THE KNITTING FACTORY - NYC 15 - 06 - 08

The rats were scurrying everywhere as we finally made it out of Nancy's, an Irish bar that Steve had found earlier that afternoon. We headed there as soon as they kicked us out of the Knitting Factory. Played really intensely in this faded non-engaging Manhattan venue that had a bit of a Moscow-Manchester complex about it. The sound was excellent, even with the sound man Paul being at the bar loudly watching the golf with his big buddies. It was great to be on a stage in New York City. Got so wound up. At midnight they cut the sound dead. Not the golf though.

There weren't many there, but for those who did come, man we love you. The Hillman's who came over from Chicago especially, Joanna and Gustaf, Mike's beautiful mad pal Renee. And all of Mike's special friends, Ross, Gina, Mike L, Chuck... all special, Ross's Parisian tattoo's are the best. And the girl who played with us at this night, Emily, she was absolutely immense. Tiger Woods too.
