Radio Joy happens every Sunday at 8pm.

Poets, writers, soundscapists and maverick musicians are all starry dust to our gristly mill. It is more often than not a two hour blast of sound from the lonely shack. A play and then some song. It can be found here on this site at www.bandofholyjoy.co.uk/radio and then the archive and many other archive shows can be had at www.radiojoy.co.uk

LIVE BROADCAST - VISUAL HAPPENING - 7TH MARCH 2010

21 02 10 CHRISTOPHER BRIERLEY READS CHIMERA BY DE NERVAL

Hi Radio Joy dreamers in the cabins where the sirens swim and swirl in torment and joy and where the rose you carry is the violet violent heart, tune in for dreams of prophets sages and kings who clamour to exclaim God does not exist, abyss, abyss, tune in or sleep on, sleep on, sleep on... sleep on through dead worlds forever, yea.

Mischa Twitchin reads Jarry's The Supermale

The essence of the Supermale is that he goes beyond everything hitherto imaginable. The Supermale is obsessed with the potentialities of man and what he considers to be his limitations; with the idea of extending frontiers, pushing the possible to the limits of the imaginable, discovering what might be done by willpower to control the energy of the universe.

'A Lucky Thief in a Careless World' is the first recording to be released on the Radio Joy label.

A limited edition CD and Booklet it was produced to commemorate a performance the Band Of Holy Joy gave at the University of London in Paris on 02 07 09 which was part of a homage to William Burroughs, specifically, the 50th anniversary of his book Naked Lunch. Recorded by Christopher Brierley with design by Inga Tillere it can be bought from our shop for ten pounds postage and packing.

There is a review of the record and show by Denis Browne in the excellent web zine mudkiss
